12/12/2018 2 Comments #12DaysOfPrayer: Faith (Day 6)"Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh: is there any thing too hard for me?" Jeremiah 32:27 (KJV) Lord, throughout the Bible it talks about having faith. While faith is an essential part of my relationship with you at times, I find that my faith is lacking. At times I allow the issues of life to distract me from the goodness of you. God, you are faithful when my situation looks good, but you also are faithful even when my circumstance is not. No matter my situation, I am reminded that you can do exceedingly above what I can imagine or think. Lord I pray right now asking that you restore my faith. Jeremiah 32:27 reminds me that there is nothing too hard for you. Since there is nothing too hard for you Lord, I know that with you I face anything in my life. Your word also reminds me that if I have faith even the size of a mustard seed, you are able to move in my life. Fill my heart with the truth that you are good in season and out of season. Only you God know what tomorrow may bring. Allow me not find rest in my problems but rather in the one who is over my problems, you Lord. As I close this prayer, I place my faith and trust in you and you alone. In Jesus name, I pray Amen.

12/10/2018 0 Comments #12DaysOfPrayer: Joy (Day 5)"Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice." Philippians 4:4 (KJV) Lord today I reflect on Philippians 4:4 that reminds me to rejoice. Lord your word does not say to rejoice just when things are good, it reminds me to rejoice always. Your word reminds me that I make a choice to have joy. Lord when life gets tough, joy may not always be my hearts original response but Lord I ask right now that you speak to my heart and remind me to have joy even in the midst of sorrow. Life is full of ups and downs, but in the midst of life's uncertainties, allow me to find my certainty in you. I pray that you in down seasons you give me strength to look up and look to you. Lord I ask that you fill me with a joy that overflows. Let your joy radiate not only on me but to those around me. Refresh my soul with the joy that you give oh God. Teach me to have a joy that no man can take away. Lord, I need your joy. Your joy is overwhelming, your joy is everlasting, and your joy will keep me in and through all seasons and situations. Lord, I thank you for your joy today. Amen. "Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you." Deuteronomy 31:6 (KJV) Lord, your word is full of promises. The thing about the promises in your Holy Word, is those same promises apply here and now. Lord God, your word promises protection, it promises that I do not have to fear or be afraid because you are with me. While I know that your promises reign true all the senseless violence and hate in this world leads me to a place of fear instead of faith. Lord, I ask that you comfort my troubled heart and allow me to walk in boldness knowing that you are my protector. Your promise in Deuteronomy 3:16 reigned true then, and it reigns true now, you will NEVER leave us or forsake us. Your word reminds me that I can find my refuge in you and you alone. Lord, I recite 2 Timothy 1:7 which says: "For God hath not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind" (KJV). Lord, the spirit of fear does not come from you, and it does not have to reside within me. I speak peace to my soul right now; Lord allow me to rest with having a sound mind and knowing you are in control. I ask that you protect me in my going and my coming. Lord be a shelter of protection and a safe haven. When I find myself in a place of fear, replace my fear with rest in knowing you are in control. Lord I give this to you right now. In Jesus name Amen. "And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you." Ephesians 4:32 (KJV) Heavenly Father, your word is a reminder of your forgiveness. When you died on the cross, you died for my sins; you died to allow me the chance at forgiveness and eternity with you. Lord, I confess right now that I have sinned and fallen short of your glory. God, I confess my sins to you right now (confess personal sins). And I come boldly to you now asking that you forgive me for my sins. Lord, please forgive me and lead me on the path of righteousness for your name's sake. Ephesians 4:32 is a reminder that we are called to forgive others as you have forgiven us. Lord help me not to hold grudges against others but rather to extend the same grace and mercy that you show me. Forgiveness is not for the other person; it is for me. Forgiving others allows me to draw closer to you. Lord, I understand that when I forgive, I am allowing you the opportunity to work in my life. Lord, please do a work in my today. Teach me to love, and to forgive others just as you have forgiven me. Forgiveness sets me free from the bondage of people and allows me to find liberty in you. God, please forgive me and allow me to extend that same forgiveness to others. I count it done in Jesus name. Amen. 12/4/2018 1 Comment #12DaysOfPrayer: Love (Day 2)"And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God's love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow--not even the powers of hell can separate us from God's love", Romans 8:38 (NLT) Father God, I thank you once again for another day. Today Lord, I take a moment to reflect on your love. Lord, you are love, and you love us. Your word is a constant reminder of your love Lord. When you died on the cross for my sins, you died because you loved me. You loved me even before I chose to love you. At times I mess us, and at times I fall short, but when I fall, your love remains the same. Romans 8:38 is a reminder that nothing can us separate from your love. God, sometimes life forces me to a place where we feel unlovable. It can lead me to a place where I think I have messed up so much that you can no longer love me. When I feel undeserving of your love, allow me to never forget that you always love me. Lord God, as your love pours out on me, allow me to take your love and pour it onto others. Let my life be an example of the love that has been bestowed upon me. Let your love shine boldly through me. God, I understand that this world needs your love and as long as I have breath in my body, I have the opportunity to let your love shine in my life. Let me be your vessel and help me to love others as you have called me to. In Jesus name, Amen. 12/2/2018 1 Comment #12DaysOfPrayer: Peace (Day 1)"Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid" John 14:27 (KJV) Most gracious Heavenly Father, I come before you this day. Lord I first want to thank you for waking me up this morning and giving me breath in our bodies. God in the midst of life, I find myself overwhelmed with thoughts of anxiety and overwhelm. Lord your word reminds me that when I can find rest in you, Lord you are our peace. When my heart is overwhelmed lead me to the rock that is higher that I, Lord you are my peace. Right now, God, I lay my problems and issues at your feet and ask that in exchange for my worry that you give me your peace. When I would rather allow anxiety, doubt, and worry to rule King in my life, Lord let your peace to rest, rule and abide in me. Lord, I ask you exchange my weakness for your strength. John 14:27 reminds me that you give me peace and in you I do not have to be afraid. Lord, I pray right now that you bring calm to my overwhelmed soul and you allow your peace to rule in my heart and mind. Lord let your will be done in my life, Amen. 11/30/2018 0 Comments Special Announcement...Hey Friends! And Happy Holidays!! Can you believe that it is the last month of the year! It has been such a fantastic time to reflect on what we are thankful for. I hope this series has encouraged you to reflect on what you are thankful for and why. In life, there are many things that I am grateful for, and today I want to close with the fact that I am thankful for Jesus. It's been quite some time since I accepted Jesus as the Savior of my life, but what I can say is there is never a day where I regret the decision that I made. Jesus has changed my life in ways that I could not imagine or think, and I can say that I am genuinely thankful for that. If I had not developed a relationship with Christ, I have no clue where I would be. I love the reminder in Romans 8:38-39: " For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor death, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord." (KJV) When I grasped the understanding that Jesus loves me and nothing could separate me from him, I began to understand that my past does not define me, and I can walk in freedom through Christ Once I started to understand that truth my entire life. The thing we must understand about that promise is it applies to everyone. Jesus came to save you, and nothing can separate you from his love. He is standing with open arms, ready and waiting for you to accept his love and build a relationship with him. I can promise you, that having a relationship with Jesus will forever change your life and your future. So today, I encourage you to take a chance on Jesus. If you do not know him get to know him, I promise you no time with the Savior is time wasted! Well there you have it friends, the final installment of the #thankfulthursday series. The conversation does not end here though! Lets chat below, what has this season reminded you to be thankful for? -Tamika 11/21/2018 0 Comments #ThankfulThursday-ConnectionsWelcome back for #thankfulthursday, one day early, haha! I want to take this time first to wish every one of you a Happy Thanksgiving. I know it sounds cliche, but Thanksgiving is a time to reflect on what we are thankful for. As I reflect on what I have in life, I am grateful for every one of you that read my blog. I write these blogs to reach people and knowing that I have the chance to impact someone, is something I will forever be grateful for. So I want to say, thank you! Now, let's dig in! I remember my last day of high school, I looked at some friends, they looked back at me, and we vowed to be friends forever. The older I get, the more that I realize that was a silly promise to make. What I began to understand was the road to forever, is a long time, and on the way to forever, things change, and people change. One constant that I learned is that people come and go. And much as we want people to stay in our lives forever, the truth is that some relationships are only seasonal. We have to learn to be okay with that. It does not matter if a relationship turns sour, or if your friendship naturally drifts apart, each connection you make on this earth can teach you SOMETHING. Over the years, I have learned to be thankful for every relationship I have had developed in my life. Past, present and future. Ecclesiastes 3:1 says: To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under heaven." (KJV) This scripture does not say that SOME THINGS change, it does not say that MOST THINGS change, it reminds us that EVERYTHING is subject to change. This passage reminds us that even some friendships we have are seasonal. But let me tell you this, the beautiful thing about seasonal relationships, is that they still serve an eternal purpose.
It is so easy for us to get caught on the loss that we miss the lesson. Our connections are meant to help us grow and develop as people. Instead of focusing on what is gone, ask God for an understanding of what the purpose of that relationship was. I know it is hard to let people go, but understand that each connection you have on this earth is a stepping stone in becoming who God has called you to be. Connections are never purposeless; they are always necessary to grow from who we are into who God is calling us to be. Let's chat below. What are you thankful for? *Be sure to tune in next Thursday for our final installment of #thankfulthursday! 11/15/2018 2 Comments #ThankfulThursday-LifeThe holiday season tends to bring up a time of reflection. We begin to reflect on things that we are thankful for such as life, health, friends, and family. Over the last few weeks, our nation has been in a state of mourning and sadness as we continue to see senseless acts of violence. In the midst of this violence, one thing that I have been reminded to be thankful for is life.
We go through life and live day in and day out as usual, but we often forget to stop and thank God for the fact that we have breath in our bodies. People all over the world are dying, and the fact that we have another opportunity to be above the ground is something to be thankful for! Life is short and could end any moment, but we must truly learn to appreciate what we have and not to spend life focused on the unnecessary. The Bible says in 1 Thessalonians 5:18 "In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you" (KJV). This scripture reminds us that we must learn to be thankful for everything, and that starts with life itself. Today, I want to encourage you, that no matter what you may be going through our facing, with God you can overcome. The fact that you are alive is a testament within itself. As long as you have a pulse, God has a plan. Keep walking in his plan for you today! Let's talk below, what are you thankful for? --Tamika |
